Digital X-rays

We use digital x-ray sensors which reduce radiation exposure by up to 90% when compared to traditional film x-rays. The images are much higher quality, they show up on the computer screen immediately, and there are no environmentally harmful chemicals needed for processing, unlike the older film-based radiography systems. Students will have the opportunity to learn to use both wall-mounted x-ray units and handheld units.

Cone Beam Computed Tomography and Panoramic Radiographs

We have a new and advanced Vatech CBCT / 3D radiography unit. Radiation exposure from the CBCT scan is up to 10 times less than that of conventional CT scans used for maxillofacial exposure. In less than a minute, data is captured to construct a 3D image of your teeth and jaws. CBCT scans may be used when planning for dental implants, oral surgery, endodontic procedures, and evaluating pathology.

Digital Intraoral Scanner

We use the 3Shape Trios Intraoral Scanner: a state-of-the-art digital scanner that enables us to take digital impressions of your teeth. The scanner eliminates the need for messy, goopy impressions, while providing exceptionally detailed digital models. The models can be safely stored digitally, and are immediately sent to the dental lab, which reduces the amount of time it takes to receive cases back from the lab (ie. Crowns, bridges, night guards, clear aligners).

Intraoral Cameras

We use intraoral cameras that allow us to take clear photos of patients’ teeth. This not only allows us to monitor certain conditions by keeping photo records, but also allows us to show our patients close up images of their teeth to achieve a better understanding of their dental conditions.

Sterilization

We use a high quality autoclave and sterilization equipment which undergo daily spore testing, to ensure that we are maintaining the highest level of sterilization to protect our patients.
